Specialist UAV services for Agriculture & Land management

Cole Aero RPAS logos (1).png

Cole Aero has a specialist team for Agriculture & land management.

Based on a strong background in the agricultural sector, our CAA autharised commercial drone operators have extensive experience of traditional agricultural and land management operations. This includes experienced boom sprayer operators holding traditional PA1 & PA2 pesticide application licenses with experience in arable, forage and livestock operations.

Our trusted services aim to bring agricultural operations the latest technology and methods to enhance traditional services. Giving a highly accurate, real time data with detail never seen before in traditional methods. Cole Aero aims to reduce costs, wastage and the need for heavy on-land machinery operations while increasing efficiency and profitability.

For more information please see below services offered, we also offer bespoke services to suit your requirements.

Multispectral Imagery and Crop Mapping

Using the most up to date multispectral camera equipped drones with RTK guidance and base stations for increased accuracy, Cole Aero provide multispectral imaging to produce data in the following formats:

- Vegetation index mapping for formulating variable rate treatment maps for use in fertiliser application, reducing input costs and requirement for costly fertiliser.

- Weed/Pest identification & treatment maps for producing treatment maps for spot treatment operations or sectional control.

- Digital surface mapping, this enables identification of land liable to runoff/erosion as well as low spots liable to flooding and drainage issues. Crop volume measurements can also be taken.

Data can be delivered in the above data sets in formats customised for the machinery used to apply pesticides and organic or manufactured fertilisers. Alternatively this data can be sent to your agronomist for your chosen agronomy provider to produce maps and order pesticides or fertiliser required to treat areas. Cole Aero are also happy to work alongside such specialists to ensure efficient seamless services.

Why choose UAV multispectral imagry:

- Higher levels of detail and information than traditional methods

- highly accurate and visual data produced

- real time, not reliant on satellite imagery

- Integration of maps with existing farming equipment (sprayers, variable rate drills, fertiliser spreaders etc)

- Save input costs on chemical and fertiliser

- more enviromentally friendly imput

LiDAR Mapping

Our LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) cameras can be used to create terrain maps, this can be used in a wide range of applications for agriculture, this can be for creating highly accurate DTM's or Digital Terrain Models from a small area for building planning preposes, to full fields and entire farms creating a digital twin of land mapped. With photogrammetry overlays this can be seen in even higher detail. These 3D maps or point clouds are used to measure subtle elevation differences, support earth work projects for cut and fill calculations and laser levelling.

These maps can also be used for improving irrigation efficiency and monitoring runoff and identifying areas of water retention and standing water. LiDAR is particularly good as it can see past vegetation to give a true bare ground map in almost any circumstances meaning current cropping is no issue.

LiDAR can also be used to calculate stockpile volumes such as aggregates or organic fertiliser such as manure. It is also used for environmental stewardship compliance data such as mapping hedgerows, ditches and water courses and monitoring changes over time.

Liquid & Granular Application (Coming Soon)

Cole Aero are looking to add liquid and granular application services via dedicated drone equipment in the near future.

Please contact us to discuss this new developing method of fertiliser, seed and pesticide application in the UK farming industry and how we may be able to help your operations.

Why choose UAV application of these products:

- More precision application of products when combined with multispectral imagery and prescription maps.

- Less product required than traditional methods, vastly reducing input costs.

- No ground compaction - apply products when traditional methods cannot, reduce compaction even further in controlled traffic operations.

- Better crop penetration - downdraft combined with nozzles

- Access boundaries and environmental buffers or hard to access areas with ease.
